Intel, Santa Clara, Calif.-based maker of the central processing unit, has
decided to expand the collection of processors with the launch of several models
for the Core i5 and Celeron series.
The new CPUs that Intel has released
are not really knowledgeable people who have been waiting customers.
Thus, it is unclear what the chances of newcomers has been selling well
before the series Ivy Bridge makes its official debut.
Then again,
the dual-core chip next generation will not appear until May and, even factoring
in all the other core, there would be only what he called some flagships are
available at first.
That said, the new processor on the Intel Celeron
list price is B815, B720, 867 and 797 (for notebooks) and desktop Core i5-2550K,
i5-i5-2450P and 2380P.
Celeron 867 (dual-core processor, two threads)
and 797 (single-core, single thread) is the chip ULV (ultra-low voltage) with a
clock speed of 1.3 GHz and 1.4 GHz, respectively.
Within this context,
their price of $ 134 and $ 107, which translates to 101.41 and 80.8 Euros.
Meanwhile, the B815 and B720 Celeron sells for $ 86 and $ 70,
respectively (65/53 Euro).
The first is a dual-core (two threads) unit
with 2MB L3 cache and 1.6 GHz, while the second is single-core, 1.7 GHz CPU
(single thread) with 1 MB L3 cache.
Move, Core i5-i5-2450P and 2380P are
priced at $ 195/148 $ 177/134 Euro and the Euro, while the Core i5-2550K, the
strongest of all newcomers, sells for $ 225 (170 Euros).
I5-i5-2450P and
2380P has four cores each, four threads and 6MB of L3 cache memory, plus a 95W
TDP. What distinguishes them is, supposedly enough, frequency: 3.2 GHz vs. 3.1
GHz.
Finally, the Core i5-2550K has the best things in common with the
two brothers above, only the hours of operation is 3.4 GHz. In other words, it
is a rather strong alternative to the Core i5-2500K (3.3 GHz), although more
expensive too ($ 234/177 euro).
